Jesus the Thankful God (Genesis 29:31-35)

Judah = Yadah.
Yadah means to use (or hold out) the hand physically, especially to revere or worship with extended hands. It means praise, give thanks, confess the name of God, laud.

1 Thess. 5:18 - give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Notice the preposition phrase is IN all circumstances is not FOR all circumstances.

Hebrews 12:2 says: …for the joy that was set before him he endured the cross….
We extend our hands to heaven with a spirit of thanksgiving being release through us for what God has done.

Jesus extended his hands for the joy that was set before him.
The weight of joy is set against the weight of suffering with the implication that the weight of joy FAR OUTWEIGHS the weight of suffering.

The weight of joy of being with you in glory, that you get it now, that you believe now, that you receive now, was what his hands were extended for in thanksgiving.
