The Business of Forgiveness (Ephesians 2:1-10)

Forgiveness is the essence of the Good News of Jesus Christ. Forgiving is the pathway of spiritual maturity. Here are three keys of forgiveness:
1. Jesus came to forgive you of your sins.
* In Him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of his grace. Eph. 1:7
* And said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, 47 and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations… Luke 24:46-47
2. Jesus does not define you by your sin.
* For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Eph. 2:10
* Luke 7:33-50 – A sinful woman forgiven
3. Jesus commands us to forgive others as we have
been forgiven or be tormented.
* For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, 15 but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:14-15
