Let me say that the goal of the devil is one thing: to dishearten us. This means to depress or to ruin one’s hope.

But as our passage declares to us: WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN DIVINE POWER THAT SUPPLIES EVERYTHING WE NEED TO LIVE A GODLY LIFE THROUGH OUR KNOWLEDGE OF JESUS. JESUS HAS CALLED US BY HIS GLORY AND GOODNESS.

THROUGH THIS CALLING BY HIS GLORY AND GOODNESS WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN SOMETHING. THIS SOMETHING EMPOWERS US TO PARTICIPATE IN HIS DIVINE NATURE.
THIS SOMETHING IS THE LIFE-GIVING QUICKENING OF EXCEEDING GREAT AND PRECIOUS PROMISES OF HIS WORD. THESE GOD INSPIRED VERSES OF SCRIPTURE THAT SPEAK LIFE INTO US NOT ONLY SUSTAIN US BY HELPING US BECOME MORE LIKE JESUS, BUT IN FACT KEEP US IN HIM.

SO, HOW DO YOU OVERCOME SOMETHING DESIGNED TO DISHEARTEN YOU?
YOU GET YOUR HEART BACK WITH LIFE GIVING WORD WHISPERED INTO YOUR SPIRIT BY THE DIVINE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT WITHIN YOU.
