Roger Thrower, October 25, 2014Part of the Rising to the Challenge series, preached at a Sunday Morning service
Three things reveal that Special Something in your life with God:
1. Do you treasure Jesus Christ?
* 1 Peter 1:3-5
* Satan attacked the treasure. Gen. 2:15-17, Gen. 3:1-7
* The Special Something is a trusting love between you and God.
* David, Moses, Joshua, Elijah, and Elisha had that Special Something
2. What does the testing of your faith reveal?
* I Peter 3:6-7
* Trials manifest your relationship with God to be true or false.
* Trials purify and refine your relationship with God and increase it
* You get creamed before you get crowned.
* You struggle with disappointment before your new appointment.
3. Is Jesus the love and joy of your life?
* I Peter 1:8-9
* John 14:21-23 – Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him. 22 Judas (not
Iscariot) said to him, “Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?” 23 Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.
