Life Giving Disciplines - Knowing the Power of Prayer and Fasting (Isaiah 58:6)

What is the end result of our salvation?
1. KNOWING FATHER GOD LIKE JESUS DOES
2. BECOMING LIKE CHRIST HIMSELF.

There are two expressions of Christ-like behavior:
1. Being like Christ and
2. Doing like Christ

The resting pulse of the person who does not know Father God through Jesus Christ is hostility toward God.

Colossians 1:21-22-And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless.

Romans 8:7-8 - For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

1 Corinthians 2:14-The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.

So, this heart attitude is transformed and the mind of a new follower of Jesus is in need of continual and daily renewal.

Therefore
Romans 12:1-2-I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Acts 4:13 - Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.

Jesus’ toolbox of spiritual renewal includes: praying, reading, meditating, worshiping, including praise, thanksgiving, praying in the Spirit, and proclaiming scriptures.

In the midst of this is a practice that enhances all tools of renewal and that is fasting.
