Isaiah 9:2 - The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone.

I want to propose to you that today we live in the land of deep darkness.

I want to propose to you that today we are to shine as lights to bring people to Jesus.

WHY DEEP DARKNESS?

Matthew 2:13 - Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Rise, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you, for Herod is about to search for the child, to destroy him.”

Destroy: Apóllymi – to destroy, to put out of the way entirely, abolish, put an end to, render useless, kill, to perish, to be lost, ruined, destroyed.

Matthew 2:18 - “A voice was heard in Ramah, weeping and loud lamentation, Rachel weeping for her children; she refused to be comforted, because they are no more.”

COMMUNION:

Luke 19:10 - For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.

SEEK (ZETEO) = to seek in order to find, to seek after, seek for, aim at, strive after

SAVE (SOZO)= to save, keep safe and sound, to rescue from danger or destruction, to save a suffering one from perishing

THE LOST (Apóllymi) = to destroy, to put out of the way entirely, abolish, put an end to, render useless, kill, to perish, to be lost, ruined, destroyed.

John 10:10 - The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

1 John 3:8 - Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.

DESTROY (LOO’O) = to loose any person (thing) tied or fastened, to loose one bound, to unbind, release from bonds, set free
