A Flash of Light (Ephesians 1:17-19)

Roger Thrower, December 20, 2020
Part of the Christmas Series series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

It only takes a flash of light – a revelation of knowing that God loves you and that Jesus gave his life for you – and at that moment you open to his love and commit your life to him. It comes just like a flash of light and you know that God loves you.

EYES OF YOUR HEART ENLIGHTENED

Enlightened – photidzo – to give light, to render evident,
Illumine, to cause something to exist and come to light and become clear to all, imbue with saving knowledge

The Greek words photidzo and photos are where we get the word photo.
This is how our cameras work: with a flash of light capturing an image.

With a FLASH OF LIGHT you can recieve:
ETERNAL LIFE
LOVE FROM FATHER GOD
MERCY THROUGH JESUS CHRIST
GRACE EMPOWERED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT

PEACE THROUGH THE BLOOD OF THE CROSS
FORGIVENESS THROUGH CHRIST TO RECEIVE AND GIVE
REPENTANCE: TURNING FROM SIN AND SURRENDERING TO GOD

HIS LIFE-GIVING WORD TO TRANSFORM US AND GUIDE US
WISDOM TO REIGN IN THIS LIFE
THE GIFT OF SPIRITUAL LIGHT TO LIVE IN
