Do Not Be Shocked (Acts 16:14)

Roger Thrower, June 28, 2015
Part of the Unshockable Love Series series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

Do Not Be Shocked:
1. By how much God loves you
* Luke 18:9-14
* Isaiah 63:6 – But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags.
Has the LORD been patient with you? Has he forgiven you? How long is it taking you to overcome
certain sin?

2. That God loves people who are different than you.
* Mark 2:13-17
* And the scribes of the Pharisee, when they saw that he was eating with sinners and tax collectors, said to his disciples, “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?” 17 and when Jesus heard is, he said to them, “Those who are well have not need of a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners. (Mark 2:16-17)

3. That God wants to love people who are different than you through you.
* Luke 16: 19-31
* A healthy, loving church is a church where unrighteousness is welcomed but not promoted, because everyone has a sketchy past. Indeed, a healthy church is an honest church.
