What's this about suffering for Christ? (Acts 3:1-4:31)

Understanding suffering and enduring suffering for the sake of Christ requires knowing these three things:

1. The REALITY of Suffering for Christ sake.
* Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 13 while evil people and
imposters will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 2 Tim. 3:12-13
* When you choose to follow Jesus and others don’t like it.

2. The ROLE of Suffering for Christ sake.
* For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so
that you might follow in his steps. 1 Peter 2:21
* To be forged into Christ image and to bond with the Lord - Philippians 3, Malachi 3:1-5

3. The REWARD of Suffering for Christ sake.
* Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you
falsely on my account. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they
persecuted the prophets who were before you. Matt. 5:11-12
* 2 Timothy 2:8-13, Psalm 23, Acts 7:55-60
