Responding to Jesus Part 2 (Luke 2:1-20)

Roger Thrower, December 7, 2014
Part of the Christmas Series series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

Tis the season to respond to Jesus. The Bible’s Christmas Story reveals ways to keep our hearts responsive to the Lord. Three choices:

1. DON’T BE AFRAID.
* Luke 1:12-13, Luke 1:30, Luke 2:10 – First we learn from these passages that God does not want you to be afraid in relating to Him and His good news for you.
* Hebrews 2:14-15, Isaiah 60:1-2 – What is the Lord telling you to “Fear Not” this season?

2. LIVE TO PLEASE THE LORD.
* “Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!” Luke 2:14
* Know this: what God is doing in you reaches far beyond you. Your choices and your lifestyle influence other people.

3. TREASURE YOUR SALVATION STORY.
* But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart. Luke 2:19
* Just as there is a Christmas story there is your story.
Luke 1:1-4
