Don't Miss Your Destiny (Luke 1:26-38)

Roger Thrower, December 20, 2015
Part of the Advent Season series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

1. God has a destiny for your life that impacts eternity. The plans are written in a book.
* Hebrews 10:7, Psalm 139:16, Ephesians 2:10, Revelation 20:12
* Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. Ps. 136:16
* Your destiny is also written in your gifting and passion. What are you gifted to do? What makes you mad? What makes you glad?

2. You can miss your destiny in Christ.
* Rejecting Jesus
* Being unforgiving by blaming others for where you are or by beating yourself up over your failures and/or denying them. Hebrews 12:15
* Being pre-occupied with the world and sin. 1 John 2:15, 1 John 3:4
* Being slothful – not preparing. Luke 9:52

3. You can fulfill your destiny in Christ.
* Be pregnant with God’s purpose for your life.
* You will experience blessing from God and opposition from adversaries at the same time.
* You will be refined through tests of your character and adjustments will be made for you to represent Jesus.
* Matthew 12:46-50
