Sermons

Moving Day (Philippians 2:6-11)

Roger Thrower, November 29, 2015
Part of the Advent Season series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

In the Christmas Story we see that God’s Purpose:

1. Calls for Relocation.
* The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood. We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son, Generous inside and out, true from start to finish. John 1:14 (The Message)
* Luke 1:26-35

2. Stretches us out of our comfort zone.
* Matthew 1:18-25
* If you walk with God you will be stretched out of your comfort zone because the walk of faith with God is in essence a walk of following Jesus into an unknown future by trusting in him.
How is God stretching you?

3. Results in Rewards for the Obedient.
* Matthew 2:11-15 – Provision and Protection
* And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. Hebrews 11:6
